Tatra Javorina, wooden Roman Catholic church

Fifth Church, which we would like to get your attention is the Roman Catholic wooden church. St. Anna and typical mountain village Tatranska Javorina, located near the Polish border. Name of the village was probably because of large maple canopy, which in the past extensively covered the northern limestone slopes Belian Tatras. Majestic maples over time though Javorinska land area of almost disappeared but there still can be found maple valley, Javorinka or Javorove shields.

The church began in 1902 to build and finance the Prussian Prince Christian Kraft of Hohenlohe. A year later, the church was completed and consecrated. Became the patron saint of the church of St.. Anna – mother of the Virgin Mary. Is nevertheless interesting that despite the fact that the prince was Protestant, financed the construction of the Catholic church.
